So Ivar Giaever is 79 and getting demented. He never did know anything about climatologogy - his first degree was in machanical engineering, and while he does have a Ph.D. in theoretical physics and moved into biophysics in 1970 none of this suggests that his scientific opinion on anthropogenic global warming is any better informed than Jim's.

If Jim-reliably-out-of-touch-with-reality-Thompson knew a little more about anti-global-warming propaganda, he'd be aware that the propaganda machine just loves to trumpet the ill-founded scepticism of over-the-hill scientists from the roof-tops. Freeman Dyson's doubts have also had a lot of publicity.
