You should be proud!

But there are lots of smart women around... you just need to hone your search skills, brush your teeth, and have a good credit rating >:-}

Seriously, I saw a survey where that good credit rating was high up on the list of requirements... smart women don't want a loser. ...Jim Thompson

Insurance companies don't want losers, landlords don't what them, employers don't want them, why should women?

Payday lenders like losers, though.

On this side of the pond, "solvent" is the main requirement in just about every man-wanted ad you see. I think that's a euphemism for 'rich' (or at least 'comfortably off')if the truth be told. In all probability, t'was ever thus. Money, status & height seem to be the most sought after characteristics.

Interesting perspective. I hadn't considered it from that angle before. But the answer is still basically 'biological programming.'

Not as much as on-line casinos!

The mandate, on males and females, is to reproduce. Men and women have slightly different optimum strategies.

Nature programs critters to want sex, and babies happen. I don't think that rabbits understand the causality. But people do. There are lots of straight and gay couples here that really want kids, and adopt them or use surrogate mothers.

There's something to be said for a stay-at-home, too (she did work for

20+ years but more or less for something to do).

Nope. Presumably short and cute people over the course of very many generations weren't terribly successful at defeating invading hoards.

Egomania isn't a complaint - the people who suffer from it aren't the people who complain about the behaviour it engenders, and it isn't a minor problem either.

"an illness or medical condition, especially a relatively minor one."
