We weren't married. Actually, we barely tolerated each other. I think we were both 19 at the time and did manage to live together without killing each other for about 9 months.
With toothpaste, I probably was the culprit. When I ran out of toothpaste, instead of buying a new tube, I would "borrow" hers. Except for the manner in which the tube was squeezed, she never objected. When we eventually broke up over the toothpaste tube issue, I immediately recognized that I had made a mistake and modified my toothpaste dispensing style. However, I continued to "borrow" toothpaste tubes from various subsequent ladyfriends. Most tolerated my irritating bathroom protocol. There were also some other problems that revolved around my abuse of the toothpaste tube, but since these lack in relevance and humor, I'll mercifully refrain from mentioning them.
