>Very nascent field of research about which absolutely nothing is known. But with the very clever and imaginative people at Max Planck Institute, it won't stay that way much longer. Lots and lots of legacy observations to give very strong clues about how what people always knew to be true will proceed.

The problem with explaining life is the irreducable complexity of even the simplest self-replicating DNA-based cell. It all has to work before any of it can work.

John Larkin doesn't understand evolution. The self-replicating cell was merely a stage in the evolution of life - and the first self-replicating systemes are more likely to have been RNA based, because RNA can work as memory molecule and as an enzyme.

It's the same argument as the argument for the intelligent design of the eye, but with the eye primitive organisms exhibit a whole of int\er mediate eye-like structures.

The early cell-like organisms became lunch for the later. better organised survivors.

Best to not tinker with a complex mechanism that you don't understand.

Most drugs are selected through accidental observation.
