Were did you come up with that stupid crap? I live on $12,000 a year and pay almost $2,000 in various taxes each year. Some of that is on 'services', the rest is direct taxes in various forms.

If there's a magnet in the pickup, it could be your problem. I had an old Jeep with a crankshaft position sensor that was going bad because the years of heat and vibration in the engine had weakened the magnet in the sensor. Putting a .01uF cap across the wires coming from the sensor got it back up and running. Somebody on this group gave me that tip, and it was a good one.

There is a difference between federal and local taxes.

You think 16% is unfair? You do use the same sorts of local services I do.

Gasoline tax is federal. Anyone using it off of a farm has to pay it.

You were claiming "About half the consumers." when I asked "Who do you think pays all taxes, in the end?" How many people live on below $12,000 a year? The only people I know of around here who pay no taxes live out in the Ocala National Forest in whatever they can throw together out of junk, and live off the land.

Half the people (households, really) pay no federal income taxes. The states, mostly, aren't nearly as far down the road to socialism. There *is* a difference between state and federal taxes (and particularly fees, which you seem to want to throw together).
