Panasonic Oxiride

Are these "new" batteries Alkaline? And are they better performer than Duracell Ultra and Energizer E2 in heavy and also in light load?

I can't find much details on Internet, may be if anyone can share his experience with these batteries or give appropriate links.

Check..a quote from their site: "Oxyride? Extreme Power is the next generation of batteries?with two major breakthroughs in innovative new materials and advanced manufacturing technology. The battery uses newly developed oxyhydroxide, which releases a high voltage to the manganese dioxide typically used in alkaline batteries. Then a new vacuum pouring technology allows inserting a higher quantity of electrolyte in the battery."

I read in sci.electronics.design that Robert Baer wrote (in ) about 'Panasonic Oxiride', on Thu, 1 Sep 2005:

The clock struck 13 there! Marketroid alert!

** Looks like a variation on the usual Alkaline cell chemistry.
** Go compare the specs.

** You will if you spell the name right.

It is " Oxyride " .

Indeed spelling it right is much better :) According to a PCWorld, these batteries are much better than other premium Alkalines for the same price.
