That is strictly for slippery equations etc..

Just switch in critical damping at a zero crossing.

Seems there was a similar thread a few years ago about _starting_ an oscillation at a particular point, of which I was involved. I'll see if I archived it. ...Jim Thompson

Hi Jim,

This is more a academic problem than a practical one. I think any talk of "switching" anything implies discontinuities, hence this is forbidden!

And the free shipping is great because it's 500 lbs.

Some of the customer reviews are LOL inducing.

For some reason these came up as suggestions (probably because the lube is purchaced by proctologists). They appear to be real medical training devices, but I can't imagine why the dark one costs 3 times as much.

Supposedly, there is actually a reduced rate of STDs among circumcized men. Between that and the pervasive ritual handwashing, Jews were certainly onto something -- at least for their time. With the huge slew of modern practices and methods to handle those things, it's not necessary.

And other studies show uncircumcized men (and their partners) have more fun...

Apparently it reduces the chance of Chlamydia in women, too. Hand washing doesn't help, however.

I had a boss who said that the Jews were the most optimistic people on Earth because they cut 1/4" off before knowing how long it was going to be.

And of cervical cancer in their opposite-sex partners.

This may depend on how thoroughly you wash.

That represents a serious misunderstanding of what's going on. But krw doesn't understand much, and is incapable of understanding how little he understands.

Actually, supposedly, it can be regenerated through gentle and consistent stretching. More or less, a suitably large ball bearing on a stem, held in place with an elastic band, does the job.

Reference, of all places: Penn and Teller's Bullshit!, the episode concerning... the present subject, as a matter of fact. They also have footage of a circumscision being performed, which should be enough to not want to ever do it or have it done. They also, ahem, exhibit one such restored appendage.

I've seen that claim. I'm fairly sceptical. My reading of what was claimed was that the surviving skin could be stretched enough to to look something like the structure that is cut off, but the original structure and functionality is permanently lost.

But probably don't go into the fine detail of the way the original structure worked, or why the "restoration" doesn't do quite the same job.
