Forked sticks big rocks Big rocks wedged into forked sticks - hot new technology, or misbegotten boondoggle?
There are drop standards.
The floor cannot be a solid. That always ends in a G spike.

All modern banks are insolvent. Google "fractional reserve banking system"
FDIC doen have enough funds to insure you savings in the case of bank run.
So, should we make food and housing free for all and paid for by taxation?
Yup. Meanwhile, the infrastructure didn't get built nor maintained.
When we were there (don't recall the year..90s), we could buy stuff with a pack of Camels.

The situation was similar when we visited Leningrad.

IT is computerized paper pushing/pulling. I was talking about the work that makes or repairs useful stuff, not the attendant paperwork.

that is a fallout of a government controlling all aspects of trade.
No, they wouldn't. They would be placed elsewhere by the government.
NOpe. No maintenance.

Yes.

I gave a smartass answer instead :-)).

The bank I chose isn't.
That doesn't mean that all banks are insolvent. It only means that the government may not give you cash if the bank _you chose_ to use has problems.
and then you leap into the NOW mantra.

It backs you deposits with 100% reserves? What is the name of this bank?
Any bank with less than 100% reserve for the deposits (which can be taken out at any time) is insolvent. === insolvent - definition of insolvent - Unable to meet debt obligations ===
Name one bank with 100% reserves. I like pleasant surprises.
Here is where you make your first incorrect assumption. It is not a path.
Those shoulders are about acquiring knowledge, not making a dollar.

I'm not interested in this; I use a bank which does banking and doesn't accept government handouts.
There are banks all over which haven't forgotten how to do banking.
Do you really think that banks owe the money which people put into their accounts?
You obviously have no idea how banking is done.

If my bank fails (and Wells Fargo is making billions in profits lately) the FDIC guarantees my savings to $250K and my wife's to another $250K. If all the banks run out of cash, the Feds will print the money.
Eventually that will probably happen, or at least people will get food and housing for doing only nominal, useless work. Some good fraction of the population does that already.
Basic food and medical care should be free now.
John
Any bank that keeps 100% of its deposits as reserve will be out of business. Banks don't make money by keeping cash in vaults; they make money by lending it out at interest.
John
You have floors that aren't solid? Kayaks instead of desks? Cool.
John
