I am starting to to write an Linux application to move images from a Nikon Cool Pix P2 camera in "Shoot & Transfer" mode over a WiFi link to a Linux system via an access point connected to the internet. I plan on using PTP/IP as the transfer protocol. At the Linux box I plan to read and modify the metadata associated with the image.
Does anyone know of any libraries for Linux to transfer the image and open and modify the image metadata (probably EXIF files).
