Need bandpass filters (RF)

Anyone know where we can get some RF bandpass filters to cover the US cellular and PCS uplink receive bands?

Ideally - something small, cylindrical, with type-N or type-BNC connectors on each end. (Male-Female). I'm thinking something in the form factor of an attenuator (like an oversized AA battery). This is for receive only, so no need to handle any appreciable power.

Performance not super-critical (will use for off-air reception hunting using a portable spectrum analyzer / receiver), but low insertion loss and good flatness across the band (response) are preferred. The skirts at the band edges need only be sharp enough to prevent desensing the equipment when in close proximity to a cell tower. If need be, I'll spec it - but it shouldn't matter right now just to get supplier contact info.

What we have now works very well, but is a moster to lug around in the field.

The passband spectrum of interest is: Cellular: 824-849 MHz PCS: 1850-1910 MHz

Thanks.

Check MiniCircuits; I seem to recall them having stuff like that.

There _are_ parts out there, catering to labs and workshops. I just don't do much at all with RF these days, so the names do not trip lightly off my fingers.

Try TTE. If it isn't a standard product, they'll make it for you in a week for a reasonable cost.

You may want to consider trapping the transmitters rather than filtering the handsets, if desense is your only concern. In any event, I see cavity filters for those bands at flea markets and even one surplus shop.

I've bought minicircuits filters. Good enough for what I needed, but they aren't known for making really high end filters. The selection with connectors on is very small. If you are willing to mount their packaged filters, you will have more luck.

Don't know if important, but if you're measuring reception and noise floor is important, watch out for the insertion loss skyrocketing your NF
