Mains power voltage drop to reduce usage?

People still use that? My parents use a dish and I use the internet.

And you would have thought they would have made an effort to make a worldwide standard when they went digital.

"Ice forms in the fridge part". Refrigerated food is damaged when frozen. It's not fit for purpose.

Looks like a lovebird had an accident with a paint tin. Here are my parrots:

What language are you speaking in that last sentence?

You wait till Scotland gets independance, you're all going to freeze.

What if you parked it wrong on a month's holiday abroad near an airport? Maybe just give them the car instead?

It takes no time to ignore.

The only time I paid a ticket was when my garage paid it for me without asking. I'd broken down and asked the garage to come collect it. They were busy and took 3 hours to get round to it. Just as they were collecting it, there was a truck ready to tow it away, so the mechanic thought he'd save me some trouble and paid.

If you have to park illegally because there aren't enough correct places to park, that's the government's fault for not providing them. What do they want us to do, drive 50 miles back home and not do what we went there to do?

In the UK it's now guilty until proven innocent. But a photo of the parking sign having rusted away last century gets you let off. And they still haven't replaced it. But they find the money to install f****ng speed bumps at TWELVE GRAND EACH.

What do brits do about wall warts? They must be gigantic.

The little USB things are adorable.

Power strips must be klunky too.

Can you remember all their names? I can barely remember my kids' names.

Mostly, but some of the lovebirds are identical and not tame, so nothing to distinguish them by. The rosellas have unique markings so I have to look carefully to work it out.

Er..... how many kids do you have you randy bugger?

Same as anyone else.

No different to anyone else.

Yes.

No, just have a fused plug.

That's just the Altzheimers, nothing to worry about.

Nothing new, I've never been good at remembering names or faces.

Oh yeah, Liz and Leah. There are some grandkids too, I think.

I've never met anyone who couldn't remember their own two kids' names. Select from:

They were with another woman and I rarely see them.

They're now all grown up and I never see them.

I've got dementia or alzheimers.

I gave them "special" names most folk can't spell.

They're identical twins.

It is unusual that you get that with your own 2 kids.

Do you have a problem working out which are yours and which are someone else's ?

They are smart and cute, so they must be mine.

You expect 100 years until the next earthquake?

Underground services get messed up in earthquakes.

In 2011 we lost phone, sewer, power, and water, (but ADSL kept working somehow)

4 days in powerco stuck a containerised generator on the street until they could replace the damaged HV link. (took a few weeks of weeks I think)

wikipedia says yes.
