Hey, today was Donut Day in the USA. Problem is, all the citizens knew it but few of the donut stores seemed to know it. Terrible lines.
Luckily, there will be a Doughnut Day later in the year.
I got my donut this morning, double chocolate :)
My favorite is the Boston Creme, but Boston is too far away.
Safeway makes something similar, but with a goofy name. It's pretty good, but not up to Dunkin standards.
I love Boston Creme Pie, too, similar concept. When I was a kid in New Orleans, we had them but they called them Congo Pies, so as not to acknowledge a Damn Yankee confection. We didn't celebrate the 4th of July, either.
I don't go much for sweet things. Last year, I was at a client's place when one of their staff was celebrating a new baby. He'd brought doughnuts in.
I'd never had a Dunkin Donut before. It was horrible but I had to finish it. My pancreas was screaming at me to stop and was trying to claw its way out of my stomach - my triglyceride meter was in the red and climbing.
How anyone can enjoy that stuff I'll never know. How anyone can sell anything that sweet without being charged with attempted murder I'll never know.

I used to know a guy who would actually eat lemons. It caused me physical pain to watch him do that.

I ate lemons when I was younger. I still like lemon juice, straight, just not in large quantities.
Sometimes a bartender tries to put a slice of lime in my rum+coke, and I have to stop him. It ruins the whole effect.
That's a little different but I agree. My wife likes lemon or lime in her coke. If I want to drink lemonade, I'll order it (I rarely do because they often use disgusting powdered mix or HiC, or some such).
