you've made me not want to look. How is such a private port set up? This would be a static IP given by a provider?

Look. It's merely a seasonal jest.

Just configure a web server to listen on it.

This one seems to be a dynamic IP that's sufficiently static.

Just port forwarding. Just about any home router can do it. I use nonstandard ports for SSH as one line of defense on my networks.

been a ham since 1970 but don't mess with it much anymore -- funny how people would poke fun as us at times (and deservedly) but my opinion is that EVERYONE has a ham mindset now with smartphones and web devices.

think about it -- the whole world is full of dorks.
