Hi everybody I need to order flex cable(s). Nothing special: 1"x3.5" long, three layers, 10 mils hole size, stiffeners on both ends, ~20 pieces. Can you recommend a decent reasonably priced board house? I have never dealt with flex before, do not know if our board house quote is reasonable. Thanks Michael

I've never done custom flex cables before, but I have had great success buying the off-the-shelf flex cables from Digikey. 3.5" long by 30 conductors by 1mm pitch will run circa $5 each, the brand names I get from Digkey are Parlex and Molex/Waldom.
Clearly in quantity this stuff has to be a lot cheaper to be used so much in consumer electronics, but I don't think 20 pieces is reaching "quantity" by those definitions.
