Favorite TEC vendors

Well just as I'm thinking about TEC's I get an email from digikey telling me about the new TEC's from CUI they are selling. We've bought cheap TEC's from Laird tech. But I think I may need a two stage one. Phil H. I know you've mentioned some vendors in the past, but it's easier to ask again rather than searching.

Thanks George H.

My 1996 paper talks about using Marlow Industries Peltier junctions. They had a pretty good range back then, which did include some two- and three-stage assemblies (which need high capacity heat-sinking on the output stage).

They still seems to be around.

Laird bought Melcor, and afaik their TECs are the same old crappy soft-solder units that won't stand temperature cycling. Hard solder TECs are made by Marlow and Tellurex, and they're much tougher.

I haven't checked lately, but that was the situation a decade or so back.

Right, thanks I started with Melcor. The CUI article on DK talks about higher reliability during thermal cycling.

Maybe they bought Tellurex. IIRC Marlow does a lot of DoD stuff.
