EMC lab in The Netherlands?

Question to our European folks: Does anyone know a reputable and responsive EMC lab in the Rotterdam/NL area? On the web I found NRL but I have never dealt with them in the past. The ones I know are in Germany and that would be a long drive.

What we may need to do is send an engineer with analyzer, probe and antenna kits out to a site to find the frequency and spectrum of a noise source. In parallel I am trying to get a list of what's installed there but most likely it's the usual, someone has to actually go there. My guess is it's a POCSAG paging system or something like that on 40.68MHZ or, gasp, 27MHz. Don't know if those are still customary over there.

Dare is very well known, has reasonable prices, and has a good reputation:

In Den Haag (The Hague) there is also TNO EPS

My guess is the TNO EPS people may have more feeling for finding problems besides certifying devices. They originate from and (more or less) share their building with the TNO part which develops electronics for defense systems.

Both take about 45 minutes by car from Rotterdam if you are travelling outside the rush hours (6:00-10:00 15:00-19:00).

Then TNO sounds more like it. This isn't about cert, it's really finding the problem and thinking outside the box a bit. Plus a nice report but I guess they all do that. Have you or a friend worked with TNO?

Yeah, rush hour. I remember how your autosnelweg (?) can become a huge parking lot. Can't remember a single day where they didn't announce on the radio that the van Brienenoord Brug was plugged up again. But you guys have a wonderful train system. That's what I always used, never used a car much in NL except when I had to schlepp lots of equipment. But I did experience something that can only happen in your country: A traffic jam in Hengelo consisting of several hundred bicycles and me right in the middle of that. Couldn't believe it. Oh, and it was raining :-(

Thanks for the pointers about EMC labs. This could be really helpful when it comes down to the mat, and I think it will in this case.

I'm employed by TNO until the 31st of this month :-) Anyway, I know someone else who may be more able to find the problem and is a real outside the box thinker. I'll send you an e-mail with his e-mail address.

Sounds way too familiar. Next year I can use my bike to get to work!

One advice: never ever say the train system is working in NL. People may kill you on the spot!

Thanks, I got your email.

That would be my dream if I could use the bicycle to go to clients. In a few years this might become feasible with a couple of local clients when the last stretch of road parallel to the highway is finished but it'll be a lot of hills. Well, in NL it was the wind. That always seemed to come out of the opposite direction wherever I went.

Those people should see our train system. A two-hour delay is nothing out here, and there isn't much of an integrated system anyhow. You can't even get to the airport with it.
