That's what I meant... will it cover cable frequencies?
A "block converter" is just a tuner that selects a channel and moves it to, say, Ch4.

No idea, you'd have to try to find specs. Which is usually not at all easy.
This whole DTV conversion was IMHO rather ill-prepared. Then they slapped 3-mo expiration times on the coupons, obviously blissfully unaware of the supply situation.
As I've mentioned before, I believe there will be major outbursts of unhappiness next February. I would not want to be a phone operator at the office of a local politician at that time. I thought the multipath problems (which appear to be almost exactly as I expected) would become the number one complaint. It might not be number one ...

Strange; i found it during my survey, and just a little while ago; try the full URL
So the RCA is better than the other three?
Maybe China now has a town named "RCA" like Japan (way back in the dim ages) named a town "USA"?
It will convert analog signals either from an antenna or cable...
The other one we can buy is a Magnavox. I'd have to dig out my notes but there was something that I couldn't do with that one. But I guess we'll have to take what's there. Last time I called they had none at all.

Some Stations may switch back to VHF too. Which I understand requires less power than those at UHF.
As for the coupons, I think they are mulling extending the expiry dates, since the boxes are in short supply.
I have the RCA box, these work well as long as threes a good signal.
Cheers
Any links to that effect? Ours will expire in a few weeks and whenever I look there is no stock of the RCA box. Or often of any other box.
Do they somewhat behave in multipath situations?

When i did my survey, all links given (on the sheet with the coupons) were valid *except* the
Thanks. I'll have to do the spec checks again since they don't have the RCA I had picked (which may or may not have vanished already). Downside is most slap on about $10 per box for S&H.
We have a rather tough multipath situation so just reding the datasheets ain't working, got to find reports from actual users. A box that collapses under multipath would be no more than a doorstop.

You can't get basic cable in your area?

Fox-40 is? Hmm, ok, maybe our political convictions are a bit different. Wouldn't have thought so, but ...

Just the short version. But it might be gone Feb-2009 on account of multipath :-(

I see plenty of the Johnsonville stuff in the stores around here. Not in the discount places, but in the national & regional grocery chains.

I am rather interested in hearing about which one handles multipath the best, as i am out in the Portland boondocks.
But then they are quite expensive.
