That's an interesting path to take.
Don't worry so much about keeping the circuit covered up, just kill whoever tries to remove the potting compound.

If the market for your device is small then there is no need for potting protection. There is probably at least 10 people in this group that could design it better without even looking into your device. In a large market situation they would be hired to redesign a better device. Forget protection, think cost, service and product improvements to stay ahead of the competion. Cheers, Harry
