This is not the only work-in-progress, several others have attained very impressive demonstrations of the possibilities. The challenge is to make the technology more universal across the spectrum of variation in human neuron signaling. It would be very simple-minded to think this is being done to simplify keyboard entry applications. Couple this with the established science of eliciting involuntary thought responses in certain applications of interrogation, and you really have something beyond the pale.
