I've seen places that mount a strobe on red lights so that color-blind folks (and others) have no doubt.

Don't post this on one of the automotive newsgroups. The combo red brake and turn signals are a religion with some. Suggest that we should adopt the worldwide standard of amber for turn signals and they might close the US borders. All of them.
Miami? Strike 'color-blind', insert 'geriatric'.
Big, flat chrome bumpers on the back of raised pickup trucks.
By now, all the engineers are shaking their heads back and forth at the sight of brake lights to estimate the PWM frequency (Oh, was I supposed to stop as well?).
Jim.. They are in Colorado. My sons made trail bikes street legal and among other things a horn was required. They put on bicycle rubber bulb squeeze horns and that passed. WW
For one thing, putting green lights anywhere on a car is probably a recipe for disaster, notwithstanding that any color besides red or amber might very well be illegal.
And nobody "forced" a third brake light on me - a few decades ago, I had a car without one, and bought a kit at the autoparts and installed it myself, because I think it's a great idea! I saw an explanation in one of those "Popular this-n-that" magazines, that the third brake light is visible through the glass of the car behind you, so the _following_ car's driver can see it, and so has more warning of an impending stop.
Cheers! Rich
The thing to add to that would be a hologram of a pair of "wrecking bars" emerging from concealed holes in the trunk. The concept that you would "impale" their car / radiator on your rear end could help them with the respect issue.
