900MHz RSSI Level Meter

what levels are you talking about...

i.e. are you feet away from the transmitter or miles?

Hi All,

I want to measure the RSSI of a selected band

850 to 950MHz.

What can you suggest for the front end? Tuned or Selective filter?

What can you suggest for the RSSI part?

GSM Phone modulation scheme?

No modulation decoding is required.

Just off the top of my head, I think you'll have quite a bit of trouble with dynamic range given how close you want to get. You might have to have some attenuators switched in up close, and switch them out as you move further away.

I work with stuff that's in the 25mW range at a bit less than 900MHz (designed/advertised as having about a 100m range - of course the usable range is considerably more than that) and near field problems are always a bone of contention for us under ~30cm.

OK

The transmitters are 1watt EIRP and 4watt EIRP

Distance from the TX's will be 10cm to 10~50 metres.

Output result will be calibated Field strength.
