200v 50a arc lamp PSU again :)

There has been some mention of using an arc welder to power a krypton arc lamp rated at 8000w (200v/40a.. make it 50a for a little headroom)

I was under the impression that arc welders operated well under 200v output, and was wondering if someone could explain either A> how an arc welder works such that i could produce the output I need, or b> what modifications might be neccessay to get the desired output ??

Yes, typically around 30 - 90 volts IIRC. You CAN get a shock off them if you are wet and grounded.

we knew this already -- I do plenty enough with my 120v arc welder on my trailer mounted antenna tower -- do you have something to contribute that is more in line with the question ??

If wanting a responsive answer is all it takes to get plonked around here -- then I AM PROUD TO BE PLONKED !!

Its not MY fault that you dont know enough about arc welder internals to answer my question !! (or if you do, that you choose to give me shit rather than answer my question !!)

"Fly by wire" is done with hydraulics. Have you not noticed what happens when all of the hydraulic fluid in a plane's control system is lost?
