You're in luck. SOmeone was asking the very same question in sci.electronics.repair and there are some answers there.

Needless to say, if you really feel you must post to more than one newsgroup (and you really should think about it really carefully), the proper method is to cross-post to both of them at the same time (ie put them in the newsgroup header, separated by a comma), rather than what you did, which was post to different newsgroups with the same question, but posting them separately.

Looks like a set of transformers / coils from a pocket radio. The red stripes on one is odd.

UNLESS the paint was worn off - as I've found some with little paint and the first damned time tuning, it too chipped off. Had to supply more for marking. I think in his pic - at least ONE was "red". I can't recall if all were colored or perhaps, if the color is worn off. IF the latter, could be lots of fun! :(

IF he knows what he took them out of - the purpose, he could look around in other similar receivers or transmitters and come up with a likely substitute.
