Fuse/ thermistor/ current control device?

Mustard yellow about 20 x 15mm , looks like a silver mica cap, flat leads etc. In line with about 2.5 amp valve heater line. Measures less than 0.1 ohm , apparently invariant to nearby soldering iron. .Letters China, 30, UF 600, GL WE Presumably 3 amp 600V rated fuse, what would be the generic name for this sort of fuse ? and how to read the rating. Is current rating proportional to the area ?

I think this has more thickness , but the diagonal epoxied lead is the same , and the colour probably So resettable "Polyswitch Fuse" ? From a Yamaha P120 piano with similar but smaller one and rated UF250 for a

2.4amp supply then probably divide figure after UF by 100 for the current rating in amps and perhaps area is related to standing voltage rating

looks closer but I could not find the related product info

looking closer it has round leads and is 2mm thick

The datasheet for your part is here:

It is, indeed, a polyswitch resettable fuse. The datasheet (catalog) is a bit hard to understand, but if you open the PDF and search for UF600, you should be able to go from there. UF600 is just the part marking; the real part number is in a cross-reference chart in the document.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where\'s the

I never thought of searching on UF600 . I could not see what does the resetting, removing current or dropping temperature or something else ?

previous one I saw was marked UF250 and was about 8 x 8mm so not definite indicator of rating, presumably that one had a 20V rating , on a 16V supply

30V rating and that Raychem series then package size goes with hold current

UF250 about 11x18mm, hold 2.5amp, long term trip current 4 amp UF600 about 15x20mm , hold 6 amp, long term trip current 8 amp UF900 ,the highest in that table 22x28mm , 9 amp hold, long term trip about

12 amp

Yes, the activation/reset mechanism is the temperature of the disc. Of course, this is the result of the current passing through the resistance of the disc, so they are very intertwined. Hope you found what you need Cheers!

yes, another mystery explained. According to that pdf there is another series that could be used at mains voltage, anyone come across one in use?
