Would N-channel JFET's be especially susceptible to heat? I'm tring to build an MFJ-1020 to enhance my shortwave reception, and have a nice 10 MHz signal input to the antenna and the first stage of amplification, but all it turns out is noise. All I can think of is that I need to use sockets rather than soldering these puppies into place. Anyone with input is more than welcome to share, as I have run out of ideas.
