I was too lazy to take the headlight off my unshocked hybrid bike before heading out to Elephant Head and now my 15 year old trusty Eveready Ni Cd D cells seem to be dead.

What sort of abuse did you have in mind?
The manufacturers tend not to encourage abuse, however there is a competition class for electric powered model aircraft that involves taking
150-200A out of a pack of 18 Sub C cells! If that's not abuse I don't know what is. The models are quite fast! The world champs for this class will be held in the UK next yeat. Keep an eye on this web site for details .
