virtex II pro development board(xupv2p) : maximum current driving strength from hirose connector

Jan 25, 2007 0 Replies

hello every body,

currently i am masters student working on the xilinx virtex II pro board (xupv2p).

I have to design a daughter board with four telephone interfaces(slics from silver telecom, Ag1170) and a quad channel codec (National semi con's TP3094).

The daughter board is supposed to connect to the development board through the

100 pin hirose connector provided on the board.

The above mentioned CODEC requires 50mA of current at 5V and each SLIC requires

1A in the worst case at 3.3V. I need help about the power supply of the daughter board.

Can the power supply present on the development board deliver such huge current. If not how much current can it deliver or do i have to design a separate power supply for the daughter board.

Please help me on this issue

Thanking you all yashu
