Overlapping WiFi coverage areas

Oct 14, 2010 0 Replies

Hi,

When faced with the task of blanketing a large area (>> that which can be covered by a single AP), are there some basic guidelines to follow? Beyond the stipulation to arrange AP's in triads such that no two adjacent share a channel (1,6,11), how worthwhile is it to tune Tx power, etc.? What are the likely *dynamic* elements that will cause performance to change, over time (e.g., walking water-bags, etc.)? What are good *quantitative* criteria that can be used in establishing the initial topology?

Thx,
