A DC-DC SMPS IC I was going to use looks like it might bite the dust. It integrated some useful functions including flying gate drive. Application is a high-power buck, switching freq between 100k and 400k (depends on the model).
I'm wondering if I should just build the flying gate drive myself -- I suspect the non-overlaping drive can be relatively easily done with output NPN/PNP and two comparators looking at the voltage thresholds for cross-conductance avoidal.
Is it worth the effort? Cost is an issue.
In the past I've tried using devices like the ADP3414 but they have minimum input frequencies restrictions and wouldn't work for soft-start because the flying gate drive is controlled by the input PWM train. I'm a little fraidy of them now.
