RoHS bizzarro

Whether it's 'ok' depends on your design.

Did the note from Farnell state the device is *not* drop-in compatible for speed sensitive designs? If not, I'd drop them a nicely worded nastygram.

As to whether there really is a true replacement, I would check the manufacturer's site.

Cheers

I've just got a note from Farnell telling me that a component (8M flash) is no longer stocked- reason is, it's non-RoHS compliant. They recommend a replacement- the identical part, but 10ns slower, with the comment "non- RoHS compliant".

So it's OK if it's slower????
