rf + gsm bug tracker + gsm jammer

Subject says it all :-)

I need to construct 3 in 1 device that will:

- scan rf and gsm area for possible bugs

- jam gsm signal for certain time ( cca 30 minutes )

The device should be mobile so am planning to use some battery pack for this....

I've considered taking a jammer to the movies with me to thwart the a**holes who have to keep their "smart" phones lit up thru-out the movie >:-} ...Jim Thompson

Once upon a time I can remember when doctors left their pagers with the attendant, who would quietly pull them from the audience if they got paged.

Now movies are populated by left-wing idiots, so I rarely go... I'm trying to remember... I think we last went to a movie maybe 3-4 years ago.

At home, however, we're reminiscing... just finished "Winds of War" and starting "War and Remembrance"... musing this morning, next will be "Odessa File". ...Jim Thompson

Sounds rather illegal (everywhere on the planet) to me.

They're illegal everywhere in the US at least and you probably don't look good in stripes. Fortunately a) it's unlikely you have the skill to even successfully build such a device from scratch even if you had detailed plans, much less design one and b) nobody with the skill to make a working design is going to help you for a price you could afford.

--------- It has nothing to do with illegal stuff. Quite opposite, it's for preventing possible problems. But i agree with you it will not be easy to construct something like this.

On the other side, maybe it should not be such a problem to design something like this because, emitting range should be cca 15m2 (room). Well, it's looks like interesting project.

I am not allowed to help you with the jamming.

It's illegal to operate an unlicensed device which even transmits any significant power on the GSM bands, per the FCC, much less interferes with other GSM signals intentionally. Full stop, period, end of sentence. They don't care whether it's only for a "certain time" or what the reasons are of the person doing it.

There are fully-detailed plans by reputable sources for the latter which pop up in my first 10 Google results when I search on the proper terms.

How he gonna design a PCB to work at 1 GHz when he ain't even know how to use a search engine
