OT - Need Help with Dropbox

Hi all,

I bought a 2TB account with Dropbox and uploaded 20 zip files 8GB total. I sent links to friends But they can't download. They say they get a file not available message. Digging into it seems they are classified as an archive. A link looks like "

I just wanted to upload 20 zip files and send links to 40 people so they could download. Does anyone have any idea how I can straighten this out? Thanks

You need to create a shared link to send to third party folk.

Stuff you have uploaded is by default private.

Thanks Martin!

It's starting to make sense. My mistake was thinking of DB as a FTP site. What I really wanted to do was post the links to my Facebook group. Thanks again!

I can't see the last two. the second one says, .zip files can't be viewed from an archived file. The third one, Hmm, the second time I tried, it opened, but initially it said .stp file can't be opened something, something something. Mikek

They can't be viewed, but maybe can be downloaded.

.stp is a 3D model, but actually text.

Yes. I downloaded, un-zipped and viewed. No problem.
