The aim is more to take money from people who have money - not all of whom are all that useful, or working - and spend it supporting and educating use less people until they know enough (or are healthy or sane enough) to becom e useful.

Even the most rabid socialist doesn't see much point in spending much money on totally useless people. It make sense to spend enough to stop them clut tering the streets by begging for handouts, and it makes sense to spend a b it more on stopping some of them from getting the diseases that can make th em totally useless.

It would be a bizarre thing to be proud of. Trump is pretty bizarre, which is one of the reasons he fascinates he press, and his claim that he was goi ng to restore the coal mining industry was even more bizarre than most of h is lies.

Taking his line of codswallop seriously is evidence of deplorable gullibili ty. John Larkin seems to like Trump, and he also likes denialist web-sites, which does make him deplorably gullible.

Nah, they probably just figure there have been enough instances of crying wolf that it's not much to worry about. People who are actually threats don't talk all day about what big threats they are.

If the "we have all the guns" crowd were actually ever going to shoot anyone they would've done it by now.

I mean the Right does murder people they don't like with some regularity, shoot up abortion clinics, bomb Oklahoma federal buildings, drive over people in their cars. But it's still pretty much a statistical blip.

These people aren't Liberals; there's nothing Liberal about them. They've simply usurped the term in an attempt to appear respectable. Pity for them that fig-leaf has blown away.

The people the right-wing call liberals don't usually call themselves that, so the term is not so much usurped as misapplied.

And Cursitor Doom knows this because he is much wiser and better informed than anybody else - in fact he is probably the only person who knows the full details of this broader agenda. The people he suspects of having this agenda won't have a clue about it.

The point was that with ~300 million firearms in circulation in the country I think it's kind of a miracle it's as peaceful as it is. In my ~40 years of living here I've only been close enough to a situation where shots were fired in anger to hear them on one occasion, and I've lived in the Northeast, South, and West at various points.

American Conservatism would be much more appealing as a philosophy if it weren't so habitually dramatic and ladylike. The punchline is right in the article title the guy isn't even a real journalist looks like he got fired from Gawker Media or something lol.
