Dear Group,
I am working on a project for an induction heater similar to
In brief the Induction heater consists of the following:-
Half Bridge running at 100-170khz using IRFP460 Mosfets (Inverter) L-Match network Parallel Tank circuit (Work coil and Work Caps)
As I understand it the L-match network limits the current drawn from the inverter thus allowing the mosfets to run cooler and at optimal efficiency. The current in the Parallel resonant circuit is large at it's resonant frequency. This is then induced into the metal to be heated by way of the work coil.
Now am I correct to find the correct L-match inductance I need to know the resistance of the inverter circuit?
This next question I am sure is going to sound really newbish but I am fairly new to electronics .... How do I find out the resistance of the inverter circuit? Is it a case of just sticking a ohm meter to the output?
Kind Regards, Steve.
