If so,

is worse.

I think the closest I've seen to a spec is something like minimum running time a few minutes and no more than 8 cycles an hour

eady. =A0What i want is a password protected setting of max. and min temper= ature. =A0I don't really want them to change the central air too much. =A0T= hey can always run the window air conditioner to the max, but they don't li= ke the noise next to it.

I don't how duty cycling the compressor would work, it'll just work harder when it is on

is more in the comfort zone, which feels like nothing, neither hot nor cold.

I'm with the injun, 77 or 78 is sometimes chilly with our new air conditioning system, the new system gets the humidity down where I want it. Our old system didn't get the humidity low enough to be comfortable even at 73 degrees. I'm very happy with our new cooling system. A few years ago I resorted to purchasing a dehumidifier to reduce the house humidity. It did work well, and allowed me to raise the temperature 4 or 5 degrees and still feel comfortable, BUT, it produced heat and the room where it was installed got to hot. With the new system even my wife and I agree on what a comfortable temperature is. :-)

I'm on the coast in Florida.

would even define it, but I do know a little bit about concentration. = That is more of an out of body experience where, within reason, the work = environment does not seem that important, and time flies, looking at the = clock expecting five minutes to have passed and seeing that it has been = more like two hours or something like that.

Oh yes, i know that one well. I call it focus. It got me in all sorts = of trouble as a tween/teen/young adult. I have told my boss "be with you in a couple minutes" when he clearly wanted my time "right now". I still hate breaking focus; but those around me now, know that is has real costs in productivity. It is also not difficult to bore me into unconsciousness, for instance waffling about imponderables of irrelevant consequences of implementing some minor policy.

points really make a difference. I'm sitting here now with two = independent readings of temperature at 75oF and 49% RH, wearing a = sweatshirt, and not even beginning to perspire. And I really don't care = for warm temperatures either, but at this RH if the temp goes any lower, = which it could if unit is in A/C only mode and outdoor temps go to low =

70s-60s, I would have to put on even more clothes. This is why all the = modern thermostats have an RH setting, not just a reading, in addition to= a temperature setting, because it makes a HUGE difference.

And yet sitting here in a room at about 78 F and 25% rh, i am miserable and kind of sweaty in a t-short and shorts. I am going to change the thermostat. Speak for your self. Oh the old small house is leaky and barely mediocrely insulated.

Yep- that's the flip side when it seems like you've been at it for hours an= d the clock says it's only been five minutes of pure torture.
