[raspbian geneweb 6.05 gwsetup] where to put only.txt ?

Hello all geneweb users and others,

My pc is at 192.168.1.11 and the geneweb server is running on my raspberrypi at 192.168.1.33.

From my pc I can't access to gwsetup on 192.168.1.33:2316. The error message I get says about this:

You cannot access this service. Only address 127.0.0.1 presently can. To go beyond this banning, you must replace 127.0.0.1 with 192.168.1.11 in your file only.txt.

This file doesn't exist anywhere on my raspberry so I think I have to create one. Where to put it ? I have tried in several places but without any success.

Thank you very much in advance.

I think this can't be the problem since I get an answer from the server. (And I successfully access my genealogy on port 2317.)

But the raspbian geneweb files tree is completely different than this one...

That was just one of the entries Google provided... You'd have to find the documentation appropriate for yours.

A cursory read suggests that the 2316 port is the management service, and is by default NOT open to anything other than localhost.

The maintenance page can only be accessed on the local machine, entering and retrieving genealogy data can be done on any browser on the local network.

Where are those several places? is there a /etc/geneweb directory? that is what I would expect from a well behaved debian dpkg installation. Oh, hey, look here: /usr/share/doc/geneweb/examples/only.txt Ah, and here's geneweb's etc/ directory: /usr/share/geneweb/etc/ Segregated to keep bad guys from potentially accessing /etc

Thank you. I did find the right place to create this file in. It is now /var/lib/geneweb/Martin.gwb/only.txt (Martin is the name of my base.)

Now, I could access gwsetup from my web browser on my pc... if Xorg would run, but that is another problem.

Best regards
