How did you run the install?

If you ran it from the command line, show us exactly what command you ran. If from a GUI, describe the steps and (apart from passwords) exactly what you types and which box(es) you typed it into.

If we don't know what you did, its a bit hard to offer help.

That said, it looks as if you ran the install as a normal user. Package installs generally need to be run as root.

I even didn't know, that there is a command line for the Pi Store. How does that work? I'd rather prefer that. Currently I run the Pi with an old tv set via composite video. That doesn't work too fine. The new set with HDMI and (almost that cool) DVB-S is on it's way.

That's what I did.

I created an account and logen in with that. I searched for the Libre Office and found it. I hit the "Install" button. That's all.

Well, I used the predefined "pi" account which, AFAIK can use "sudo". By the way, I was never asked for a password to perform sudo.

Thanks a lot.

Not sure why you needed to use the PiStore when it's a standard Debian/Raspbian package.

sudo apt-get install libreoffice

Should install it for you.

Although I have to say that it's not going to be fast on the Pi. Make sure you have as little memory as possible allocated to the GPU (16MB) and you might need to make sure you have a bigger swapfile too.

And excercise lots of patience.

(I've seen the presenter/"powerpoint" part being used though - slow, but usable)

Funny and easy. Thanks.

I didn't know that there is an apt-get port of LO. Can I make apt-get to give me a list of packages. I know that form fink (Mac OS X).

Or it there somewhere a official list on the net?

Where can that stuff be set?

Thanks.

dpkg -l

will list currently installed packages.

To list all available...

apt-cache stats apt-cache search .\*

/boot/config.txt

apt-cache search is the command-line tool. aptitude is a much easier to use (but somewhat sluggish) CUI tool (type ? for help.)

debian.org

[GPU ram allocation]

sudo rasbpi-config, or some text file in the boot partition
