Weird TV Power Issues

Sort of a long story, but here goes: We have had 3 LCD TV's with the same i ssue. It is intermittent, but every day, typically multiple times a day the TV will completely power off. Each of the TV's have been hooked to the sam e power outlet in the same room. We have had both Charter and ATT as TV pro viders during the 4 years this has been happening. We have used other power outlets (via extension cords) and even had an electrician check the power on the circuit to make sure it isn't a power issue. Currently the charter T V which is on the same outlet will stay powered and only the TV shuts off. Again this has happened to 3 different TV's so we just can't figure out wha t it going on. Any ideas would be amazing! Thanks everyone

Is it all happening in the same room? Try turning off any CCFL or LED lamps as they are known to interfere with the IR remote control systems.

I agree with Tom. CFCL's are good possibilities. There are ways to dix the problem. Basically a better repeater.

See if you can correlate to times the lights are on or even the AC blower. Look at alternate sources of light.

You might want to try a cardboard tube over the sensor. You'll have to have better aim, =, but it will cut off the majority of ambient light.

For now, make sure the remote isn't causing it too. Put it in a shoebox when your not using it.

Ceiling fans are another possibility.

I had an issue with an X-10 system not working when the AC blower was running on a carrier 58mVB furnace, A $70 filter installed at the furnace worked wonders. There is no RFI filter which is stupid.

To further help other issues, a bidirectional transorb was placed across R and C.

Probably irrelevant, but some electronics have built in timers to turn them selves off after a preset amount of time if there is no interaction from th e user. These can often be set to 2 hours, 4 hours, or never, etc. Check th e setup options. It might just be "normal" operation.
