Weird feedback problem on alarm clock

My alarm clock makes a weird noise about one night every 6 weeks. The noise happens all night for a few seconds every 20 minutes. It is the same kind of noise you hear if you get a mobile phone too close to a computer. Kind of a stuttered buzzing. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can prevent it? The clock is next to a land line phone (about 2 feet away) and a lamp. Do I have to get a new clock?? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just out of curiousity, do you have a Nextel cell phone?

No, a Nokia with Cingular service

They all make the same noise when adjacent to 'some' audio or RF devices. I hang my cell phone (Cingular/Motorola) on the dash beside the car radio. I can always tell when I have incoming (or when the phone is contacting the Mothership) before the phone itself rings by the buzz in the radio...any mode.
