TV Service Menu Questions

I have a Zenith SR2568S TV that has served me well, but I sought and found the Service Menu access key because I had a problem with reception on one channel. I have cable TV, but one channel drifts in and out of color occasionally so I thought there might be a way I could adjust the tuning of that channel in the Service Menu.

My first question is: Do Service Menus have any means of adjusting the tuning of a single channel?

My second question is: I understand the purpose of most of the menu settings, but those below I am not sure of. Could someone please explain what they are? Thanks.

Preset PX

CAP Phase

AC On

Key DEFT

A/V Lock

Band/AFC

Are you suggesting that this setting may be able to correct the tuning problem I had with the one station?? Or are you just defining the abbreviation?

Ken ha escrito:

that fault does not sound like something which diddling with the service menu can resolve. try your cable decoder on another tv see what happens. Sounds like either trouble with the deco, or possibly a tuner /IF problem

I take it from your comment that there is no adjustment for fine tuning the frequency for a channel? Ironically, after entering the service menu and leaving it with the settings NOT changed, the channel is now working better. Since I do not use a cable box, but simply the TV tuner to select my channels, I suspect the poor reception on the one channel might even be the cable company's fault. I know it has not improved due to anything I had done, so I am sure it is just a coincidence.

Any idea what the abbreviations stand for in my message above??
