If you have the ability to open up this unit. Try cleaning hte lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. It would appear that the unit realizes that a d isk is present, but cannot complete the intiial loading of info from the di sk. This can hapen if the lens has a film on it from smoke or grease or an y other particulate matter. A word of caution: Please be careful when cle aning the lens and use as little pressure on the lens itself as possible. V ery fine wires suspend the lens and are easily broken.
