LCD tv help . power light only

Philips 37PF7320A/37 LCD set Power goes on green clicks off in 2 seconds then the red light blinks One long , 4 short ... repeats as long as its plugged in . The power switch will still work repeating the above . Tv never turns on Thanks

Your question is very generic. This can be an internal power supply failure, or a short or failure on one of the circuit boards.

The blinking sequence on several tv sets is a code as to the problem . The power supply is working best i can test . unplugging ballast boards does not find the short .

One long red blink then 4 short blinks on a Philips

99% of the time with LCD faults, it's the inverter panel.someone here posted a link to a sales place not so long back I think....

Thanks for those great links .

It turned out to be a real small 1/4 watt 100 ohm resistor burned out in the power supply very hard to see .
