Landice L7 treadmill with an L5 error code

I have an Landice L7 treadmill that is give me a L5 error code.

Anyone have any idea what this error code means? The machine does not work now. Not many hours on it but it is out of warrenty so it looks like I might have to swallow the repairs.

Hopefully not too much money anyway:) Thanks for any suggestions that you might be able to give me. Ben

Hello

This just happened to me today.. did you ever find out what this means? Mine stopped twice today close the the end of my jog. The 2nd time it wouldn't start, unplugged it, pressed the start button, and plugged it again. it then started again. I've had weird slow downs once or twice b4.. I think I may need to call it in, afraid I may ruin it if I don't...

thanks

Were you able to get this fixed? This just happened to my Landice L7 treadmill - was wondering what it took to get it fixed, how much repairs cost.

L5 or LS is short for Low Speed error. It basically means that the speed sensor is not picking up a signal. Unfortunatley its a pretty vague error code and can be caused by several different problems. First you have to determine wether or not you have belt movement. If you have a LS with belt movement you know that it is related to the speed sensor itself (or the MCB motor control board - the part of the MCB that handles speed sensing function). If you are getting an LS w/o belt movement you have to check to see if you have power output from the MCB. If you have no power output, check fuses, if fuses are good you will need the MCB replaced. If you have suffcient output its drive motor related. Aside from a problem with the drive motor, it is possible that another factor is stopping the motor from turning (ie: locked up roller bearing, foreign debris, etc.). If it is a case of faulty electronics the next question is, is to figure out what caused it to fail. Most MCBs don't fail on their own, something usually causing them to fail. The bottom line: The LS error can be complicated and should really be inspected by a professional to fully assess the issue. Cost to repair can vary greatly depending on what exactly is wrong with it. Also keep in mind, if the unit is covered under warranty, tampering with it most likely will void it.
