i dropped her microcassette recorder!

and now it won't play. ff and rewind works, but now nothing happens when you press the play button except that you can't get the button to pop up again. it sometimes looks like it wants to go when you press record but....there is a dent in the back. it wouldn't matter except that it's super tiny, credit-card sized, and i borrowed it from a friend who has had it for a long time so it's an old friend to her (she's a journalist). i am trying to find a way to fix it but because it was made in japan by a brand that no one is familiar with, i am considering operating on it myself! shhh! the brand is National, model nr z30

anyone have suggestions?

RN - Z30 ?

You may be lucky RN Z15 and 36 manuals show a thin metal cover plate over the motor pulley and band, at the back, so maybe just deformed against the belt.
