Crown Amps

I got a CTsomething 1000 here and a JBL plate amp build by them and both have the same readings. The power supply is not running.

I find there is a source called 30VCTRL or some, and I finally found out it comes from a winding on the transformer. However it a pears there is a startup pulse applied to it.

What I don't know at this time is if it is actually starting and shutting down right away. I read no shorts. Of course there could be other things

I have considered next time I put this up I might just put 30 volts in from a bench supply and see what happens.

Any ideas ? Phil ? "Eat shit and die all you have to do is ______ and then drink some battery acid and drop dead". That would be cool, I just want these MFs outta here. Oh yeah and once this is nailed then the plate amp is nailed.

If I get nothing I can do it. I would just like to save time. Get this shit out and the customer is happy.

And it is fairly elusive, it has to have something to do with AC BULK. How else can they start it ?

So anyone familiar with this who can shortcut me to the fault ? I'll return the favor whenever I can.

That is a Harman product these days. My experience with them is that they are pretty supportive, even of legacy stuff.
