Touch Lamp Rated at 100W

I have a touch lamp in the bedroom, which has about 3-4 settings. Each touch causes it get brighter, then off. I've had a 100 watt bulb in it, but because of a slight eye difficulty, which is about to be corrected, I need a brighter lamp, 150 watt. The IC device in it shows a max of 100 watts. I've used the lamp for at least one hour at a time several times now, without any noticeable overheating or damage to the nearby lampshade. Any safety comments?

A 100W halogen type would almost certainly meet the lumens ratings of a 150W GLS type.

Yes, lumens are really key here. Unfortunately, the 100W bulb had no lumens rating, so I just accepted whatever 150w I could fine. It's probably a better idea to find a lower wattage bulb with high lumens.

GLS type.

Yes, high lumens with lower wattage. My wife is the complaint dept. here. I went around and around with her two years ago about a halogen bulb I bought for the den. None of her complaints had any validity, and she's accepted it. A halogen for the touch lamp is OK by me.
