Church play but need wireless mikes and misc. hookup

I have been designated as a grip, or roadie, and need to start to find a wireless micriphone system that will work reasonalbly well. If the kids put these on and I can run the outputs to our P.A. system then EVERYBODY CAN HEAR THEM MAKE THEM MISTAKES THAT WILL FOLLOW THEM THROUGH THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.CAN SOMEBODY STEER ME TO A brand or make that they have had experience with? I need about 4 to 6 external mikes(preferably lapel clip on), transmitter and receiver unit. Can anybody help me out here? Any brands that anybody had experience with? Could sure use someone who does this for a living. Thanks in advance for any insight anybody can give me.

First question: How big is your budget?

If you want broadcast quality, you can easily spend several hundred dollars on just the microphone, plus the transmitter, plus the receiver (our church broadcasts the Sunday morning service on a local cable channel). These systems work reliably at distances of 50 to 75 feet from the mike to the receiver. They are also available in a number of frequencies, so multiple mikes can be used at the same time.

If you need only a couple of mikes, the mike to receiver distance will be under 20 feet, and/or your budget is tiny, you might try some of the lower-priced wireless mikes ($70 to $180 for a pair of handheld mikes with receiver) from Surplus Computers (didn't see any clip-on mikes).
