Can 2 phone lines be hooked to 1 Caller ID

Can 2 phone lines be hooked to 1 Caller ID? Perhaps with some diodes to isolate them? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Roy thanks

Only if it is a 2 line type ID box it will work. You do not want to parallel or cross your phone lines. These caller ID units are so low in cost these days, why not just get another one? Infact, many of the phones all have them built in now.

In article , snipped-for-privacy@aol.com mentioned...

If you get two phone calls at the same time, then neither CID will work. Diodes won't isolate the lines without stopping the CID signal.

You might get a 2-line phone that can do it, because it has the circuitry needed.

You'll be glad you did! Just when you thought you had all this figured out, the gov't changed it:
