Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech is hosting a "High Perfo= rmance Computing in the Life/Medical Sciences" 2-week summer institute (htt= p://nsfsi.vbi.vt.edu) sponsored by the National Science Foundation. This su= mmer 2-week intensive course (July 17-26 2012) is directed towards eligible= undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs interested in further devel= oping their expertise in biology relevant high performance and data intensi= ve computing field. During the course, participants will attend lectures an= d discussions by leading field members including academic and industrial af= filiates and work on a group research project with 3 other course participa= nts.

This course is supported by a NSF Funded Award No. OCI-1124123. Travel, lod= ging (in a Virginia Tech dorm room) and sustenance (primarily from the Virg= inia Tech dining halls) is provided. Application deadline is March 30th; pl= ease see
