What I mean by a software emulator is, an application that runs on a desktop/laptop where some favor of MSP430 code can be run and tested, as if it was running on the actual chip.
Hope that makes sence.

The IAR kickstart (which is free) comes with a simulator, I believe. I use my FET tools usually, so I have to turn that off in a new project. But sometime in the past I believe I used the simulator and if memory serves it works okay so far as it is able. If you are talking about supplying vectors to the simulator, though, I don't think so.
